In 2012 Jan Hawkins and Heather MacPherson welcomed visitors and locals to the first Bannockburn Arts Festival, 'Across the Bridge'
Since then the festival has gone from strength to strength featuring writers, poets and artists from all over New Zealand. We have strong community support from our residents, many of whom are creatives themselves.

Wool Shed Art Exhibition
Every year in October the artists residing in Bannockburn hold an exhibition of their work in the old Cairnmuir wool shed. In combination with guest artists this is a weekend not to be missed. This unique venue has a wonderful atmosphere show casing a wide variety of creative endeavours including paintings, photography, jewellery, sculptures, glass and sometimes video.

A night of fireside stories by local residents, informative, interesting and amusing.
